Perfect Pressing for Smooth Seams
During sewing, you should PRESS not iron as ironing can stretch and distort your fabric.
Pressing is an up and down motion.
* Press the seam flat on both sides.
* Press seam from side to side.
* Press seam open using the point of the iron.
* Press seam lightly from the right side for a perfect finish.

Piping
Came across a great little tip for applying piping on the Coletterie website.
Baste your piping to your garment piece using a 1/4" seam. This holds everything in place ready to sew the piping into the seam without the risk of the first stitching showing.
