Embroidered Towels

I keep forgetting to take photos of some of the towels I embroider. So here's a couple I've done for Christmas orders using different fonts.

James' T-shirt

I HATE shopping for boys t-shirts. If you don't like skulls or creepy things or distasteful things then it's very difficult to find a decent shirt. So I came up with an embroidery idea on a basic t-shirt I found at Best & Less (3 for $10). I created a crossword design using things that James likes - surfing, Bionicles, Rangers Apprentice, Lego, Heros, Starwars,Shrek etc. He helped with the placement and chose the colours and away we went. He's very happy with his unique t-shirt. I even created a My Favourite Things label for the back.

Chloe's Christmas Decorations

Chloe also made some hanging decorations using a Christmas print featuring blocks.
These were joined to a flet back using vliesofix and stitched with coloured thread and a hanging ribbon added.

Bunting

Chloe and Darcy both made bunting during separate classes.
Chloe's triangles are only about 10cm and Darcy's are bigger at about 20cm.
Chloe used bias binding to join them and Darcy used ribbon.
They both look great are are very festive.

Christmas Classes

Marg embroidered some purchased placements with christmas designs for teachers gifts.
The designs are from  Designs by Juju
They are designed as appliques, but for a quicker project they are perfect sewn using great Christmas colours in the threads.

Testimonial

I have really enjoyed your classes.
You are a great teacher, with plenty of patience
and the classes were fun.  I fell I have learned a lot, including feeling
comfortable now with my machine.
Hopefully I can join another of your classes later on.
Regards
Ann

Piping

Came across a great little tip for applying piping on the Coletterie website.
Baste your piping to your garment piece using a 1/4" seam. This holds everything in place ready to sew the piping into the seam without the risk of the first stitching showing.
